Baltic SeaBreeze

Keep Sweden Tidy Foundation was the lead partner in the project Baltic SeaBreeze between 2005-2007, with focus on the Baltic Sea.The projects aim was to reduce marine pollution by changing the attitudes and behaviour of the people using the Baltic Sea area, like seamen, leisure craft owners and the fishing sector.

Baltic SeaBreeze

The ultimate goal of Baltic SeaBreeze has been to change the attitudes and behaviour in order to reduce marine pollution in the Baltic Sea. Lack of knowledge and commitment has lead to an insensitive damage of the marine eco-systems. Unnecessary oil spills from boat motor engines, noise pollution from leisure crafts and fishing boats, marine litter and poorly educated personnel in marinas/guest harbours are a few resons to the problem. A growth of fishing, boating and shipping activities in the region have economic, environmental and social consequences that concern all countries in the Baltic Sea.
